Passive Unix RMA
1) No problem. We will remove this account in 10 minutes
2) No.
RMA for BSD, Linux and Solaris platforms can perform following tests:
- TCP
- UDP
- UNC
- Folder/File Size
- Count Files
- File/Folder Availability Exists
- File Integrity
- Text Log
- Compare Files
- Process
- CPU Usage
- Shell Script
- External

There is snmpget command line utility for UNIX. You may create simple script to request SNMP Agent and use Shell Script test method to perform the test
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... m#chkShell
Also probably you may use RMA for Windows installed on any Windows system in that remote network to perform SNMP Get test.

I think it is easier to configure unix snmp agent to send traps directly to the hostmonitor management station, in this case i dont need to install unix RMA at all. I did this on Windows server and it worked fine. what do you think??
If you agree with me, do have an idea how to configure snmp agent in Linux to send Traps to a remote management server?
Thx

Why not? It does not matter for HostMonitor what system sends SNMP Trap messages (Windows, Linux, AIX or MacOS)hmuser wrote:I think it is easier to configure unix snmp agent to send traps directly to the hostmonitor management station, in this case i dont need to install unix RMA at all. Actually, it depends on the agent installed on Unix machine. The most popular agent is Net-SNMP, so the following site will be helpful, I suppose: http://www.net-snmp.org/hmuser wrote:If you agree with me, do have an idea how to configure snmp agent in Linux to send Traps to a remote management server?
