Minimal Rights/Permissions

Post by bsumang »

Hi,
I work at a bank where creating an ID and giving it Domain Admin access is BIG NO-NO.

We currently have HM running on a server that resides on an isolated VLAN. It communicates with a primary and backup Active RMA agent to perform ALL of our tests.

Is there a list of HM tests showing the minimal rights/permissions an ID would need to perform each test?

Thanks in advance.

The following tests require administrator rights
- CPU Usage
- Process
- Performance Counter

The following tests require power user account
- NT Event Log
- Service

The following tests may require different accounts, it depends on access rights for specific folder/file
- UNC
- Folder/File Size
- Count Files
- File/Folder Availability
- File Integrity
- Test Log
- Compare Files

Other tests may work under any account with some exceptions (e.g. if you are using Shell Script or External test to start some application that requires specific rights)
