hi

i use a snmp check to read the temperature of my NAS harddisk
(qnap nas ts509 pro)
the result of this snmp check is : 40 C/104 F

question
can i ONLY stip the first 2 chars ??? so (inthis case) : 40

can please some one help me with this ???

Sorry, there is no such option in HostMonitor.
Normally SNMP agents should provide some numeric counters, not just text for humans. Otherwise such agent does not have much sense :roll:

Probably there are some numeric counters provided by this device as well? Do you have MIB file for this device?

to read the (enterprise) temperature from disk 1 use snmp oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.24681.1.2.11.1.3.1

Looks like it does not provide "normal" numeric values :-(
Strange... why they waste time developing such agent?

May be we can implement some additional SNMP options in version 9.
