Hi,
i am running Host-monitor on a Windows 2008 server and are checking a process on several other machines.
On every machine running Windows XP the test works fine,
but on 3 machines running Windows7 the test doesn't work.
I get the message "Warning: Cannot retrieve process list from \\ip-adress...".
All the machines are running the samt user account and are in the same domain.
Anyone got an idea what I can do to fix this?
Problem checking process on machine with Win7.
Could you please check the following
2) RPC service is started on both systems (system where HostMonitor is running and target host)
3) Remote Registry service should be started on target system as well
4) Check if account that you are using for the test has KEY_READ access to the following registry key on target system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows_NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib.
To view/change permissions to the registry key you can use the registry editor utility (Regedt32.exe).
5) no firewall between 2 systems blocks TCP ports above 1024
6) perfProc.DLL should be enabled on target system
Regards
Alex
