how to migrate action profile to new version

Post by EG »

How can I migrate action profile to new version 9.5 from 7. I tried to just copy the *.lst, *.hml and *.ini file. I can see all the testlist but I cannot get Alert profile I set before on new version properties window.

Does anyone have similar experience?

Action profiles are located in actions.lst file.
Copying all configuration files at once should work, HostMonitor should automatically upgrade configuration files.
Please note, HostMonitor 9.50 may contain configuration files (all *.lst, *.hml and *.ini files) in separate Data folder (default is: C:\ProgramData\HostMonitor\).
If you are not sure where is Data folder located, you may check the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KS-Soft\HostMonitor\DataFilesPath
for x64 Systems:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KS-Soft\HostMonitor\DataFilesPath
If DataFilesPath is not present, HostMonitor will use current HostMonitor folder.

Migrate to new version? Start installation program, select Update/Repait mode, finish installation.

Probably you want to move software to different system?
Then check this article
http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... php?t=1099

If you already copied some files and forgot other files, then start everything from begining
- stop HostMonitor on old and new systems
- copy ALL FILES AT ONCE. Copy HML file with tests + *.LST files + INI files.
- start HostMonitor on new system.
I tried to just copy the *.lst, *.hml and *.ini file. I can see all the testlist but I cannot get Alert profile I set before on new version properties window.
If you copied all files AT ONCE THEN started HostMonitor and you do not see profiles, this means you copied files into wrong location. New version allows you to select destination folder for config files during installation process. Please make sure you copied files to this folder (e.g. c:\programdata\HostMonitor)
