ODBC setting and tests are missing after re-boot ( graphs)

Post by xxeejj »

hi,

we have server running Hostmonitor service.
I use RCC to edit tests and create new ones.

when server is re-booted we see following errors:

1) test history graphs are not perfect , there is only fractions of graphs seen.
-> seems that logging or history does not save to disk ???

2) then some of tests created are missing after reboot ?
--> what is normal procedure to create new test and save it ?
can I do those on RCC at all ?
Do I have to have access to server disks ( no there is not)
I use windows 7

3) when creating backup log to MS SQL , it works when I run test and odbc on my laptop, but odbc connection and back up logging does not start on Server running hostmonitor service ..
there is similar odbc created on server as on workstation,
but we do not get values to database

What HostMonitor and RCC version do you use? Windows/Service pack of HostMonitor system?
User account, specified on Service page of Options dialog?
1) test history graphs are not perfect , there is only fractions of graphs seen.

What logging mode (Full, Brief, Midnight,...) and log type (File, ODBC) do you use?
Could we see your log data and graph?
2) then some of tests created are missing after reboot ?

Test list and settings should be saved automatically when HostMonitor service is stopped. You may also setup autosave option using menu Options -> Preferences -> Autosave options
Manually, testList can be saved, using HostMonitor/RCC menu File->Save
Do I have to have access to server disks ( no there is not)
I use windows 7
RCC should not have any access to server's disks. It uses only TCP connection to send commands to HostMonitor.
3) when creating backup log to MS SQL , it works when I run test and odbc on my laptop, but odbc connection and back up logging does not start on Server running hostmonitor service ..
there is similar odbc created on server as on workstation,

When setting up test items, RCC may establish connection by itself (e.g. "Test" button on RCC "ODBC Query test" dialog). However, after test is created, all connections are performed by HostMonitor.
That means, ODBC datasources should be setup on HostMonitor Server.

Please check System log for ODBC logging errors (HostMonitor menu View -> System log or RCC menu View -> Auditing tool -> Recent syslog)

Also, please check the following option
When service is being stopped
- save changes in HML file
- discard all changes
(option located on Service page in HostMonitor Options dialog)

Autos save is on, when I do from workstation changes does not go thru ? When logged to server on HM, then it looks like to save tests??

9.04 Beta
Remote Control Console
Version 4.56
1)
Why you are using old Beta version?
What is your registration name? "Ekokem oy ab"?

2) HostMonitor 9.04 cannot work with RCC 4.56.
Please use all components of the software from the same package (HostMonitor, RCC, Web Service, RMA, RMA Manager...)
