Delay Alerts at HM (re)start

Post by Kris »

Hiya all,

I have quite a bunch of tests that compare values with previous values.
However, at startup there obviously are no 'previous' values.
So these tests will fail by design, when they run for the first time.

It would be handy to delay the alerts for selected tests for some period or iterations to prevent alerts caused by (re)starting HM.

Can that be set somehow?

Thanks!

Could you give some example of such test/test settings?

Usually there are previous values...
May be you disabled "Store statistics" and "Store recurrences" option (HostMonitor Options dialog: Preferences page)?
What test method do you use?

Example:
Get Snmp serial number of a device, and compare to last found value.
If the s/n changed, someone swapped the device.

How exactly do you compare values?
Please provide details, test settings, HostMonitor options.
