2 level Email notification

Post by AlexK »

Hi!

I want to have a "2-Level-EMail-Notification".
If a test fails for the first time, I want to set the status to Warning and send one Email to one special person. If it's failed for 5 times, I want to set the Status to Bad and send another Mail to another person.

I have this "Use Warning status if" condition:
('%SuggestedSimpleStatus%'=='DOWN') and (%SuggestedRecurrences%<5)
and I have enabled "treat Warning status as bad".

Could you help me?

Help? I think you are using correct expression.
Have you added 2 "Send e-mail" actions into alert profile assigned to the test?

No, not yet.

right now, HostMonitor will send one Mail on the first fail.

What do I need to send a second mail, when the status becomes really BAD?!

Now I have a second Email-Action.

the frist email-Action starts if 1 Consecutive "Bad" result occurs, and the second starts after 5 Bad-results. But for this scenario I don't really need the "Use Warning status if" option. I want that the mail action depends on the status I set...

I want, that one Mail is send, if the first "Warning" appears and an additional mail, if the first "Bad" appears.

Hopefully you understand what I mean....?!

Probably you disabled "Treat Warning status as Bad" option?

If I do this, the status always stays "Warning" and don't change to "Bad" after 5 fails...

I mean you don't need to disable this option, keep "Treat Warning status as Bad" option enabled
And simply add 2 actions into alert profile
1 - start when 1 consecutive "bad" result occurs
2 - start when 5 consecutive "bad" results occur
That's it.
