Hello,

I am using 3.16 Beta on Win2k Server, and I cannot seem to get NT Event Log checking to work.

I have a target server (also Win2K) that I am monitoring for items such as diskspace and to make sure a service is running. Both of these tests are working correctly.

I have also setup a test to monitor the NT Event Log by selecting Log Type "Application" and Event type is "Error" and leaving other fields (Event ID, Description Contains, Event Source) as blank.

After flushing the application event log on the target server and then forcing errors to appear in the log, I do not see HostMonitor correctly telling me about the new Error event.

I've tried some other Event Log tests too, but none seem to work for me so far.

Thanks in advance for any help.

(Very nice product, by the way.)

Regards,

What the status of this test? "Ok"? Or "Unknown"?

"Ok" means HostMonitor connects to remote system and reads information from Event Log, but it does not see new error events.
Could you please send your file with tests (HML file) to our address line1@ks-soft.net?
BTW: Do you have correct time on both systems?

Regards

I found the problem. The time on my test server and the target server were the same, but the timezones on the 2 servers were different. (The servers sit next to each other, so I'll have to have a little talk with the folks who built the servers to figure out why in the world they were in different timezones!

Thanks for your help, and keep up the good work.
