Read beyond end of file error, .hml

I'm getting this error when loading HM 1.74 after an upgrade to 3.0. Any help appreciated.

Of course you will have this error, HostMonitor 3.0 uses new file formats. We recommend install HostMonitor 3.0 into different directory.
However, HostMonitor 3.0 before converting files into new format stored backup copies. If you did not removed backup files, you can rename files with extension .~HM back into *.HML; ~.LS into *.LST and start old HostMonitor. It will help
