Hello !
What are the hardware requirements for a HM configuration in these different situations :
- 10 servers (Wintel), 2 Unix/linux, MS Active Directory (2 controllers), MS Exchange (1 server), these machines are on two different sites.
- about 100 servers on about 20 sites, we want essentialy to monitor the hardware (CPU, memory, disks, fans and so on ...)
- 20 MS Active Directory Controllers, on 10 sites, we want to finely monitor the hardware and the AD
What is the best solution for an HM configuration :
1- HM + SQL + IIS on the same server ?
2- the three on different servers ?
All comments and experiences are welcomed ...
Best regards

Depends on how often you want to perform each test. E.g. if you setup 4 tests for each server (15+100+20)*4=540 test items to be checked every 10 min, HostMonitor will execute 540/60/10=0.9 - just 1 test per second. In such case you may use PII processor. What are the hardware requirements for a HM configuration in these different situations : ...
If you want to perform tests more often and use some havy logging (e.g. save all test results into ODBC table), better use Pentium 4 and 512 Mb memory.
On the one hand these 3 applications are stable and can work together. On the other hand, if you will experience some problems with this server, it will be more difficult to investigate source of the problem. What is the best solution for an HM configuration :
