Does not send email notifications

I have setup the email notifications for a bad status and setup my mail settings. Is there anywhere to test SMTP connectivity? or send a test email? My monitor fails, I have a popup in my actions after 1 occurance, then after 2 it should email... but nothing happens. I look in the log files and it shows nothing about emailing? Please advise. Thank you.

On the 'Mailer Settings' page in the options dialog, you can turn on the 'show status windows when sending mail'

You can then at least see if HM is trying to send an e-mail......

Thank you, with that status window, I found out what was happening.
