Posting Log values in Email body

Post by cmaceach »

Hi,

Is there a way to post the text of a log file into the body of an email. It is just plain text. I tried adding it as an attachment but the SMTP server is on my LAN and the affected systems are remotes via RMA. The attachment can not be passed via WAN.

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Chris

Do you mean there is some file located on remote system (HostMonitor does not have direct access to the file) and you want to send this file as e-mail attachment?

Its impossible to do using HostMonitor only. If you install some e-mail client software (that may send e-mail automatically) on the same system where file is located then you may use "Execute external program" action performed by RMA to start this e-mail client.

It doesn't necessarily need to be an attachment. Even if I can embed the log files text into the email body that would work just as well.

Answer does not changes - if HostMonitor does not have access to the file, it cannot send this file by e-mail
