Safest way to move hostmon to other PC

Post by clerevan »

Hi KS,

I'm trying to move Hostmonitor from my 2012 server to Windows 2008 server because there are some issues in 2008 server right?

If I tried to just copy the test list, I will still need to do configuration for new like the UDV, the alerts profile, Connection manager, etc. Is there any method to relocate it safely and of course faster so I don't need to config from the first.

Best Regards

You need to move all configuration files at onse: all *.HML, *.LST and *.INI files.
The best way is to follow these steps:
1. Install HostMonitor on new system
2. Stop HostMonitor on old one and copy all configuration files to new system (overwrite existing files)
3. Start HostMonitor on new system and provide your registration codes (menu Help -> License -> Register Now)

Please note: HostMonitor may store configuration files separately from executable files (default path : C:\ProgramData\HostMonitor\)
