Web Service does not display correctly

Post by Robert_in_MTL »

Hi,
RCC = 4.8.4
HM = 9.8.4
Web Service = 4.04

My WebService does not display the real info, tests marked as "checking" stay there forever even if I see the test as OK in RCC, tests only seem to add themselves to the display list and the list grows and grows...

if I click on the folder name on the left pane, display refreshes correctly, flushing all the old test statuses but the list starts to grow back.

Browser cache was flushed without diference

Thank you

This might help:

since it is for a monitoring display on the wall, I unchecked the "good" tests in preferences because we only want to se what is not good

maybe the fact that the status returning to good is not displayed on the page leaving the "testing" forever ?

I see. In such case try to unmark "checking" status as well.
This will help, however when test gets "bad" and then "good" status, web interface will leave test item with "Bad" status like it does with checking.. status until you click the folder tree.

On the other hand, it's better to use "Views" instead of regular "Tree" view to display test items with some particular test status.

??
So what are you telling me? not to use that? (I've got a feeling that you are not Alex ;) )

I've been using this webservice for years like that without problems to display monitoring statuses of different folders on big displays in the IT wall

now it does not work with the new version.

I don't want to use views, i just want to use the regular web service as I am supposed to be able to do...

While we try to find solution, you may use previous Web Service interface available at: http://<WebserviceHost>/ws1/index.htm

Do you get some error? What exactly error do you get?
Heave you specified correct Web Service IP/Host in URL?
New user interface is available at:
http://host
http://host/index.htm
http://host/index.html
Old interface accessible by:
http://host/ws1/index.htm

Have you tried old interface URL on local system http://127.0.0.1/ws1/index.htm ?

I only have a WS2 folder in my WebService folder and it does not contain any index.htm

There should not be ws1 folder. It's webservice "virtual" folder.
Please try old interface URL on local system using URL http://127.0.0.1/ws1/index.htm

I tried woth no success.

Maybe I will only re-install the old webservice (and probably use an older activation code)and wait until you can find the bug and fix it.

Thank you

If anybody else experience the same problem using version 9.86, there is update: www.ks-soft.net/download/ws406.zip
Please stop Web Service, unzip files, replace webservice.exe and *.data files located in WS2\ folder

Regards
Alex
