But the actual reply from %CommentLine1% was: [%Reply%]
But %Reply% reports the response time in milleseconds..
Sorry, DNS test does not provide such option.
I think you may use our lookup utility ( www.ip-tools.biz/download/lookup.exe ), utility was designed to be used by Shell Script test method and returns IP address as result
Thanks, Alex. This solution might work well. I noticed that the lookup.exe you pointed me to uses the local machine's DNS settings. But I need to query a specific DNS server...
I searched the documentation for Lookup and found reference to "Advanced" where I can specify the DNS server to query, but I didn't see an explanation of how to do this.
If you need to check specific server and send returned IP address, then we have to modify HostMonitor (store DNS test results, provide new macro variable, etc). I can add new task into "to do" list but we cannot implement this right away. Probably after version 6.70
